Scion Navigation System

The Scion Navigation System is an available 6 speaker 160 watt max power, audio/video system that's combined with a sophisticated GPS nav system and 7" wide LCD touch screen. The new scion nav system offers a wide range of features to explore the world around you.

[edit] Menu

You can access the main menu of your Scion Navigation system by pressing the "menu" button. This screen allows you access to Suspend and Resume, Volume, Select User, My Places, Setup, Map DVD, and Help.

The suspend and resume guidance button pauses and resumes the guidance system.

The volume button allows you to adjust or turn off the volume for voice guidance. To adjust the volume select the desired level by touching the appropriate button. Touch OK to confirm your selection.

With the select user button you can create and store up to three user settings. The system can memorize settings including map direction, configuration, language, scale, direction, road preferences, and more. Select user to memorize settings, then yes to register.

By choosing my places you can register, edit and delete user memory points such as home, and other key points.

The Setup button allows the user to program distance format, keyboard layout, timezone, and much more.

You can also select Map DVD to display and confirm information in your covered area.

The help function is marked by the question mark icon. Whenever present, the user can select this button to get assistance.

[edit] Map

when starting the navigation system your vehicle's current position and a map of the surrounding area will be displayed. You can return to this screen from any location by pressing the Map/Voice Button.

You can find interestings destination by using address information, a point of interest search, or a destination search. They system will give spoken directions at each turn on the map. By selecting the Destination button, the destination screen appears.

You can use one of eleven different methods to search for destinations, such as phone number, address, point of interest, and more.

Push the Info button to display the information screen.

The information screen provides access to four primary functions: Maintenance, Calender, Language, and Settings.

Some of the maintenance items include: engine oil and filter, tire replacement and rotations, battery life, brake pads, wipers and scheduled maintenance, as well as information about your dealership.

Also, you can set personal preferences such as a personal calendar with memos.

Another customizeable feature of the navigation system is the language functionality. The language of the buttons, voice settings, and popups can all be customized.

The settings button allows you to customize items such as the beep type of the nav screen buttons.

The display can be adjusted to suite your needs with dual maps and a compass mode.

At night the display colors can move to deeper backgrounds and vibrant colors for the roadways which can make it a lot easier to read the navigation screen.

By pushing the mode button you can swith between audio modes such as Radio, Satallite Radio, MP3, CD mode, iPod, Windows Media Audio, and DVD, as well as turn off the audio system.

You can select the Audio button at any time to display the respective audio mode operations screen.

You can choose any audio mode such as Radio, Satallite Radio, MP3, YD mode, iPod connection, Windows Media Audio, and DVD from this screen.

[edit] Sound

The sound quality inside the cabin can be altered greatly by such factors such as the type of media or music used and the vehicle's body type.

This system allows you to choose the most approriate sound quality to suite these factors.

By pressing the sound button you can adjsut and set the sound quality of settings such as bass, focus, equalization, fade and balance.

[edit] Tilt

Press the tilt button to adjust the angle of the Scion navigation system's screen. This also allows you to load and edjuct CDs and DVDs.
